Barara Streisand

The word for this week’s Illustration Friday is “Legendary.”

I think we can all agree that Barbara Streisand is, if nothing else, “legendary.”

Eh wot old chap?  Here is a sketch I did of her recently.  To be more precise a caricature.

Her nose of course is also legendary.

“Time” for Obama

This week’s word for Illustration Friday is “time.” I did this cartoon of Obama during the primaries. I think it fits the word “time.” It is his time now and hopefully he can take us through this crisis much as FDR did during the Depression of the thirties. Hopefully it won’t take as long.

Flawed Frankie

The word for this week’s Illustration Friday is “flawed.”

Some may say that Frankenstein is flawed but I kind of like him.

“Vacant” for Illustration Friday.

This is a sketch I did for homework for a Head Drawing class I had. I noticed the vacant stare that “David” has and decided it would be good for the word “vacant” for this week’s word for Illustration Friday.

THE FINANCIAL BAILOUT/PAULSON

WOULD YOU BUY A USED CAR FROM THIS MAN?

Notice the strong resemblance to “Frankenstein.” It is uncanny. Does it speak to you in any way? Is this a character made up by a “mad” doctor? Or president if you will? Whatever!
The question is can we trust him when he tells us we need to bail out Wall Street? Especially since he was a CEO in one of the big Wall St. companies and made a fortune there. I guess it depends on whether you trust George Bush or not.
Anyway, good luck to us all. With people like this running our financial system we have to pull out of this “financial meltdown” sooner or later. Hopefully.

Illustration Friday – Detach

The word for this week’s Illustration Friday is “detach.”

How long do we have to wait to detach from this man? Can’t be too soon for me.

“CANNED” IT IS

The word for this week’s Illustration Friday is “canned.”

While Murray liked his dry dog food, he went absolutely nuts for the canned variety.

“ENOUGH ALREADY” FOR IF

This week’s word for Illustration Friday is “enough.”

Clarence thought his Master loved it when he delivered the mice. He was however, crushed when she said “enough already!”

Lost in a fog of cigarette smoke.

The word for Illustration Friday for this week is “foggy.” Most of you don’t remember Peter Lorre, an actor from the 40’s who appeared in a lot of movies of the era. One of which was “Casablanca.” Bet you remember now. He always played a bad character or “weasel.” How could he miss with those eyes and that face eh? Oh and yeah he always had a cigarette either in his mouth or was in the act lighting one. He always played his characters to the hilt and you always believed him.

The word for this week’s Illustration Friday is “Sour.”

I sketched this with a pencil and went over it with charcoal and also used a little white pastel. Ya can’t get more sour looking than this guy eh? At least I think so. Whadda ya think?
